Yes!! SOPA is DEAD!

We did it!!! Smith has agreed to pull back the bill!!!!! SOPA is gone for the time being. PIPA’s voting has also been postponed (it’s original date was Tuesday…) by Harry Reid. Even though it is stopped now, Smith said he’d get back to this bill in February. Brace yourselves.

So throughout this week, everyone has been going crazy over SOPA. People talk about it on Facebook, in school, everywhere! People who don’t know what it is either get chewed out or a super long explanation usually revolving around what a ……fail person Lamar Smith is.

On the 13th, which was last Friday, the DNS Provisions were removed. I have NO idea what the point of this was… but it seemed to be a waste of time. Apparently, you type in the link thingy on the URL bar, and then the internet figures out the IP address, and then it sends you to the website. What. The. Fuck?

On the 16th, this Monday, the White House announced that SOPA and PIPA were too risky/insecure to use to prevent online piracy. Apparently, it wasn’t good enough xDDD

On the 17th, Jimmy Wales, co-founder of Wikipedia, announced that he was going to be closing down the site because of SOPA. SOPA authors said it was just a bluff and that he would not really do it (but he did :D).

On the 18th, the internet was blacked out. Not cuz of SOPA. Well, it was cuz of SOPA, but it was because everyone HATED SOPA. Google’s logo was censored, Wikipedia was down, Tumblr was down, etc. etc. Every site allowed you to contact your senator.

On the 19th, SOPA went Mainstream. LOL Something awesome that also happened was an Anonymous attack on pro-SOPA sites. After Megaupload was down, many government sites also shut down because of these attackers. Apparently, if they were caught, they would be sentenced to 20 years. [link]

On the 20th, which is today, Reid postponed the PIPA voting. On the same day, Smith also decided to withdraw his stupid SOPA bill. 😀 FINALLY. They listened. Obviously, the internet’s voice is too strong.

SOPA Yes or No

So one of the biggest topics in the US is SOPA and PIPA. SOPA is the Stop Online Piracy Act and PIPA is the Protect IP Act, both that in my opinion, are USELESS. Absolutely Useless.

So one thing I found very amusing is this article a friend sent me. The title is The Author of SOPA Is a Copyright Violator. Now… that’s somewhat ironic isn’t it? In it, it talks about how our dear Lamar Smith who wrote this stupid act used a picture, that was not his, and did not credit the photographer. The photographer was later contacted and said he gave no consent/permission/whatsoever to Smith for authorized use of the picture.

So… if SOPA was passed, I wonder what would happen to Smith 😀 I’m sure he’d be really happy and glad to know the act he wrote got him sued. 😀

Okay so, because of SOPA and PIPA it is said that major sites like Wikipedia, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, etc. will be on strike. When I saw the black page for Wikipedia, I started clapping. I mean, I can’t live without it (almost) but HELL I’m sure the government won’t like a major site like that shut down.

To me, since copyright isn’t like a such a big deal, the only thing SOPA affects in my life is YouTube. I already get so angry from all the Copyright Infringement, and how uploaders have to write their titles all weird, and how so many of my favorite videos get deleted >:o. I mean, somehow, NND videos got copyrighted. What. The. Fuck

SOPA doesn’t do SHIT for us normal people. Sure, it helps the movie directors, the song producers, all that crap to earn money from the sales of the movies/cds/dvds, but seriously. If I could, I’d buy all the SHINee CDs AND download the songs from YT at the same time. Why? Idk 😀 Maybe cuz I’m crazy.

For those who have the resources to buy the stuff (location and money), they’ll buy it. I’m sure they will. I mean, you get a free photobook and a cd and a cd case 😮 But for some people, who live on the other side of the world (like me), cannot buy it. Sure,there’s Amazon, but not everyone have credit cards. Also, those CDs are EXPENSIVE. SHINee The First CD was 60 bucks I think. And the limited edition was like 80. The difference? I think there was ONE extra track. The main part is the poster and stuff. But some of us don’t want the poster, just the music. And there are people nice enough to upload it online….and risk copyright.

That’s just not fair. It’s like making everyone broke >:O One day, we’re all going to starve, and China’s going to ask us what happened, and we’re going to say SOPA doesn’t allow us to post movies, videos, and music online so we have to buy the CD for 60 bucks :D.

Okay, my understand of SOPA and PIPA might not be exact, but this is pretty much what I gather for it.

All in all, I applaud the sites that are going on strike to fight against these two acts. They are UNREASONABLE.

Guys, this is what the internet is going to be like :D. It’s going to be worse than the school’s internet. Imagine that….School internet blocks everything already. Now, more is going to be blocked.

I must admit, there are many parts in this book that left me TERRIBLY agitated. If this didn’t happen, if he/she hadn’t done this, then Dumbledore wouldn’t have died. I like Dumbledore. I also liked Sirius Black. They were like what, two of the most important people to Harry. And they died. And they both didn’t have to. I mean if Harry wasn’t being an idiot then Sirius wouldn’t have died. Not that I blame him…since even though he was the one who rushed into the Ministry, it wasn’t his fault. He cared for Sirius so he made a mistake. Goddamn if only Kreacher wasn’t such a bish then. Or Sirius wasn’t so mean to Kreacher. URGGHHH

Now…. if Harry had taken the Felix Felicis with him, then he and Dumbledore may NOT have gotten into so much trouble. But then again, he cared the hell for his friends and well…..Dumbledore’s a strong wizard. He gave Harry a safe feeling… too bad it wasn’t so safe. And then if Dumbledore HAD NOT USED THE EFFEN FREEZING CHARM ON HARRY MAYBE IT WOULD’VE BEEN BETTER. I MEAN WHY DID HE HAVE TO USE ITTT!!! -in despair- Then, he could’ve protected himself and Harry would be able to use spells too =_= I mean Harry doesn’t have an Invisibility Cloak for nothing. Okay, okay I know that he knows he’s going to die. But seriously…. >.> Besides, he wanted Snape to end up with the Elder Wand. Well hell HE DIDN’T END UP WITH IT DID HE HUH. And then like that wouldn’t Voldemort end up with the Elder Wand? I honestly don’t get it. I mean… Dumbledore must have SEEN Voldemort killing Snape for the goddamned Elder Wand. Well, not a Nico update so don’t be so eager to read this >.> … i should really resume the Nico updates… but that aside

1. I just wanted to say that my blog views are becoming higher and higher now 😀 so happy :DDDD thank you SOOO much for viewing meh blog for stuff. The two most viewed posts are Piko’s song lyrics, i think it was Wasurenagusa…or Sakurane >.> and Mr. Music. YAAY~ Hurray for those two posts.

2. T_T Well apparently, ppl has been reading my blog. like real ppl. ppl i actually know T_T. yeah ik, depressing isnt it? my friend just wrote a SUPER long email to me abt me complaining abt her and some other ppl. >.> so sad huh? well, i guess my personal diary is gone T_T. I’ll continue writing abt stuff to complain abt on my blog, but i’ll password lock it. unless its something good >.> just in case someone reads it again and writes another super long email………… well i guess i can’t blame her. i mean, it’s my fault for leaving it public. meh.
